Final Assessment Defense for Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. He Yinjie Successfully Conducted
On the afternoon of February 9, 2026, the final assessment defense for Dr. He Yinjie from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Shenzhen Research Institute(SZRI) was successfully convened. He Yinjie is a member of the Spatiotemporal Intelligence and Sustainable Development Laboratory, led by Associate Professor Xu Yuan at CUHK SZRI.
The defense meeting was conducted both online and on-site simultaneously in the conference room on the second floor of Shenzhen Virtual University Park. The meeting invited distinguished experts Professor Wu Jing from Nankai University, Associate Professor Zhang Wenting from Huazhong Agricultural University, Associate Professor Zhou Yulun from The University of Hong Kong, Associate Professor Lu Xingcheng from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Associate Professor Xu Yuan from The Chinese University of Hong Kong to form the defense committee, which assessed the exit report. Other participants included Ms. Zhao Haiyan from the Postdoctoral Workstation of Shenzhen Virtual University Park, Dr. Wu Jiahao as the secretary, Dr. Chen Yuan from the Spatiotemporal Intelligence and Sustainable Development Laboratory of SZRI, and Ms. Xu Siqi, postdoctoral administrator of CUHK SZRI.
The defense committee reviewed Dr. He Yinjie's exit report and work summary titled "Assessment of Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Potential and Development Strategies for Photovoltaic and Land Comprehensive Utilization in Megacities", and conducted in-depth discussions on his postdoctoral research. The experts affirmed the achievements Dr. He Yinjie made during his postdoctoral tenure, and provided specific guidance on the next steps for research on the assessment of energy-saving and emission-reduction potential and development strategies for photovoltaic and land comprehensive utilization in megacities.
During his tenure, Dr. He Yinjie successfully completed the required tasks, actively participated in National Key R&D Program, and published multiple papers. After discussion, the defense committee experts unanimously agreed that Dr. He Yinjie's report is clear in its approach, with outstanding research achievements, and unanimously approved his successful completion of the postdoctoral exit assessment with a good grade, extending their warm congratulations.
The Spatiotemporal Intelligence and Sustainable Development Laboratory at the CUHK SZRI focuses on research areas including spatiotemporal intelligence big data analysis models, smart cities, land use/cover change, geospatial statistical regression, remote sensing and low-carbon sustainable development, and new energy applications and territorial spatial planning. The laboratory currently has 4 members, including 1 researcher, 1 research assistant, and 2 postdoctoral fellows.
